Eagles make strides

WINNSBORO – Richard Winn Academy’s Cross Country team, while basically still in the honeymoon phase, is comprised of many young runners gaining experience and making great strides to advance their program.

Head Coach Robin Allen expressed pleasure in the direction the school’s program is going, noting individual accomplishments over the course of the season.

“From our first meet at Great Falls to our last meet with Great Falls, Mary Stegall-Smith and Rayne Williams took over 10 minutes off their times. Caitlyn Talbert and Ella Grace Harrison have shown consistent progress and determination throughout this season.

“The boys improved their times over the course of the season as well with Austin Robinson and Lawson Wade consistently coming in top for our boys’ team,” said Allen.

Recently having finished their regular season, all that remains for the Eagle runners is the post season, the SCISA State Meet on Nov. 2 at Heathwood Hall in Columbia.
