PTP opens audition for ‘The Dixie Swim Club’

WINNSBORO – Pine Tree Players will hold auditions for ‘The Dixie Swim Club,’ a heartwarming, laugh-out-loud comedy on Feb. 9 at 3 p. m. and Feb. 10 & 11 at 7 p. m. at the Pine Tree Playhouse.

Five Southern women, whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team, set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships. Free from husbands, kids and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage on North Carolina’s Outer Banks to catch up, laugh and meddle in each other’s lives. The play focuses on four of those weekends and spans a period of thirty-three years. “The Dixie Swim Club” is a hilarious and touching comedy about friendships that last a lifetime and beyond.

Each cast member will portray her character at ages 44, 49, 54 and 77.

Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script.  Directed by Shane Moody, the production will run for six performances opening on April 24, 2020 and continuing on April 25-26 and May 1, 2, and 3. The Pine Tree Players are an all-volunteer, community theatre organization. In addition to actors, individuals who would like to work behind the scenes are welcome.

The Playhouse is located at 230 S. Congress Street in Winnsboro. For more information, contact Shane Moody at [email protected].
