Griffins take down Great Falls

GREAT FALLS – Down by two runs in the top of the third inning, Fairfield Central got themselves in gear for a comeback.

A one-run third inning was the beginning of the Griffin revival. They plated two runs in the fourth, six in the fifth and four in the sixth to end the game early with a 13-2 final.

Earning only four hits in the game, Fairfield was able to capitalize on base running to lead to scoring opportunities. The Griffins tallied 16 stolen bases during the game with four players taking multiple bases.

Shykeim Holmes led the way in base running with five stolen bases. He also homered in the fifth inning.

Adam Gonzalez got the win on the mound, facing 20 batters in 6 innings pitched. He allowed no nits and no runs, struck out eight and walked one.
