WINNSBORO – The Winnsboro Department of Public Safety erected a memorial in front of the department last week to honor one of their own, Captain John D. Durham, 42, who fell ill and died Wednesday, July 15, while on duty.
The memorial, featuring Durham’s patrol car, will be on display until after a graveside service held at Morris Creek Baptist Church on Thursday.
A 15-year veteran of the WDPS, Durham was married and the father of three children.
