Plastic pollution’s local impact

COLUMBIA – Learn more about plastic pollution’s global and local impact and how to support a cleaner environment during a virtual workshop on Nov. 19, at 1 p.m., hosted by the South Carolina Aquarium, Riverbanks Zoo & Garden, Richland County Conservation Commission and Congaree Riverkeeper.

Participants will get a sneak preview of a plastic pollution documentary being filmed in Richland and Charleston counties and hear from University of South Carolina graduate student and filmmaker, Emma DeLoughry.

All attendees will be provided a solo litter sweep kit including mesh reusable bag, grabbers, reusable gloves and a clipboard with data sheets. Pick up location for the kits will be Riverbanks Zoo during the week following the virtual workshop.
