WHS girls, BHS boys receive region and state honors

BLYTHEWOOD – Postseason honors are rolling in for players from both Blythewood and Westwood High Schools.

Last week, Westwood announced that Jessica Woods, Malayziah Etheredge and TraShawna McCant were selected to the girls Region IV-AAAA team. Head coach Gregory Bauldrick was named Coach of the Year.

Earlier this week, Blythewood High School juniors Julian Phillips, Emanuel Richards and Isaiah Williams were named to the Region IIII 5A All-Region team.  Kyle Greene Jr. was named Region Newcomer of the Year, and Kristin Claiborne was named co-coach of the year with Northwestern’s John Bramlett.

Also this week, Phillips and Etheredge were named to the SC All-State teams.

According to Maxpreps, Etheredge finished her senior season averaging 14.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.7 steals, and 1.9 assists per game.
