Eagles finish 5th at state

MYRTLE BEACH – Richard Winn golf finished the South Carolina Independent Schools Association (SCISA) state tournament in fifth place on Tuesday. The team total for the two-day tournament was 797.

Golfer Marshall Gibbons scored 176, the Eagles’ lowest score and the 13th lowest of the 46 golfers competing. Connor Little hit 202, Kitt Nicholson hit 204, Derek Branham finished at 215 and Meredith Pope at 224.

Cambridge Academy claimed the 1A title with a team score of 651. Also finishing ahead of the Eagles were Wardlaw (706), Holy Trinity Classical (735) and Mead Hall (753).
