‘Maxine Canzater Day’ proclaimed

BLYTHEWOOD – Blythewood Mayor Bryan Franklin presented a proclamation to lifelong Blythewood town resident Maxine Canzater who turned 99 on March 24, a date Franklin proclaimed Maxine Canzater Day.

Born in a little house in Blythewood in 1922, Canzater was the fourth of 12 children, and later, she became the mother of 12 children. One of those children, Robert Canzater, accompanied her for the proclamation presentation. A charter member of the Blythewood Ladies Club, Canzater is active in her family’s home church, Bethel Baptist Church, and has 41 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren.
