WINNSBORO – During the July 13 meeting, Winnsboro Lion Wendy Luce, pictured above, was presented with a Lions International Presidential Citation for service by Immediate Past Council Chair Lion Rhett Hair. Among Luce’s service involvement, the Presidential Citation recognizes Luce’s service as director of the Fairfield Community Food Bank. A Presidential Citation is the fourth highest recognition awarded by Lions International and is one of only nine that were awarded in Lions District 32-S this year.
Also during the meeting, Hair inducted three new Lions into the Winnsboro club: Rev. Mr. Steve Elkins, Mrs. Stephanie Elkins and Dr. Sarah Bryant. The Winnsboro Lions Club was chartered in 1935 and reached its 86th birthday this past May. Lions International is the world’s largest volunteer service organization.
