BLYTHEWOOD – Theodore Ernest Peeples, a long-time resident of Blythewood SC died at Lexington Hospital on Sunday, September 19, 2021 due to COVID-19 complications.
Theodore was born on December 23, 1952 in Columbia, SC at Baptist Hospital to Marilda and Murphy Peeples. He has 2 brothers, Bruce Peeples and Murphy Peeples; and 1 sister, Joan Altman (Stewart). On June 21, 1986 he married the love of his life, Tina M Peeples. He not only married her, he took on the task of raising her 2 young daughters, Maria Toole (Nathan) and Candice Lucas (Mike) as if they were his own. On January 14, 1988 they welcomed their own son, Theodore Ernest Peeples Jr. into the world. He also had 6 grandchildren, Brendon, Makenzie, & Averie Toole and Michael, Savannah, & Colton Lucas. Theodore was proceeded by Murphy Peeples and Dotty Peeples.
Theodore worked at Winn Dixie, Food Lion, and IGA for about 40 years as a Market Manager. He was very good at his job but would often say the best part of it was his relationships with his customers.
Theodore was a devoted Christian. Every Sunday he enjoyed watching John Hagee Ministries with his wife Tina. He read his bible daily and once he finally figured out how to use his cell phone he loved reading scripture on his cell phone. Theodore had a very calm nature about him and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
The funeral service for Mr. Peeples will be held 5 o’clock, Thursday, September 23rd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 4 o’clock.
