COLUMBIA – Fairfield Central High School alum Jamara Green (’19), now a student at the University of South Carolina, was the subject of a painting that was used on the cover of the Spring 2021 Garnet & Black magazine.
The cover won first place in the Magazine Cover category in the Associated Collegiate Press 2021 Design of the Year competition. The cover was designed by USC student and artist Zhane Bradley who turned a photo of Green into a 30-inch by 40-inch oil painting.
“I was really shocked,” Bradley said of the moment she learned her artwork had won first place in the Associated Collegiate Press Pacemaker awards.
