Job Fair offers jobs, vaccines, expungement

WINNSBORO – Fairfield County is hosting a job fair on Monday, Oct. 18. But it’s not just a job fair.

Fifteen businesses and several other organizations will be conducting interviews on site, offering resume assistance, expungement, COVID vaccinations and more.

Each business will have a booth where job-seekers can pick up an application. Tables with seating will be available for completing the applications. The completed applications can then be taken back to the employer’s booth where an onsite interview will be conducted.

The hiring fair will be held at the W. H. Boykin Recreation Center at 1851, U.S. Highway Bypass N., from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The fair is open to residents of Fairfield and surrounding counties.

The following employers will be on site:

Michelin, Department of Corrections, Department of Juvenile Justice, Regal Homecare, First Light Homecare, Integrity Staffing, Goodwill, Spherion Staffing, Newberry Lumber Mill, Constantia Blythewood, Town of Winnsboro and Addus Healthcare.

Midlands Tech will be present to provide information for programs they offer, and SC Legal Services will be on hand to assist those who may need expungements.

Job seekers are encouraged to bring resumes with them. However, for those who do not have resumes, SC Works Mobile Career Coach will be on site to assist with creating resumes.

Fairfield Medical Associates will be offering COVID vaccines on site as well.
