Bengals go 2-1 in first meet

CAMDEN – Blythewood Wrestling opened the 2021 season with a defeat of Airport and Camden on Tuesday in Camden.

The Bengals took wins over Airport 42-34 and Camden 42-27, but fell to Lancaster 46-25.

“We definitely have got to get our conditioning up,” head coach Paul Watson said, “and I was really disappointed by many of the mental mistakes we made, like locking hands and not finishing pins.  Good thing is its all correctable.”

Freshman 106lb starter Rolland Boisvert was 3-0 on the night as were senior captains Matt Clack at 126lbs and Eric Montgomery at 170lbs.  The Bengals were set to compete at Columbia High on Dec. 1 against Columbia and AC Flora, but scores were not available at press time.
