Griffin girls pick up region win, boys fall to Chester

CHESTER – Fairfield Central’s varsity girls picked up their first region win of the early season on Tuesday in Chester in a big way.

After falling back-to-back to a tough Keenan team, the Griffins blasted Chester to the tune of 57-21.

Senior De’asia Feaster put up 17 points in the win. She also had four rebounds and a blocked shot. Madisen Belton had 9 points, 8 assists and 9 steals.

After losing by only six points to Keenan earlier this month, the Griffin boys dropped another tight conference game, falling to Chester 52-45.

Down 29-15 at halftime, the Griffins put up 30 points in the second half and held Chester to only 23, but the 7-point deficit still remained.

The Griffins are scheduled to host Chester on Thursday.
