FCSD suspends district-wide mask requirement

FAIRFIELD COUNTY – In a Facebook post on March 1, Fairfield County School District announced that the Board of Trustees suspended the district-wide mask requirement.  The post says:

“On February 22, 2022, DHEC updated its guidance to schools for managing the spread of COVID-19. Tonight, the Fairfield County School Board of Trustees suspended the districtwide mask requirement except in the following situations or conditions.

Masks must continue to be worn:

  • while in the health room or other designated healthcare areas.
  • by individuals returning to school/work from isolation for Days 6-10 of their isolation period.

In all other situations and conditions, employees and students have the option of wearing masks effective March 2, 2022.”
