BLYTHEWOOD – Bengal volleyball picked up two wins in their opening week. First, the Bengals defeated Lugoff-Elgin last Tuesday with a 3-1 final, then they topped RJ Reynolds 3-0 on Thursday.
Blythewood took a narrow 25-22 win in the first set over Lugoff-Elgin before taking a decisive 25-14 win in the second set. The Demons topped Blythewood 25-16 in the third set, but Blythewood finished the match with a 25-21 fourth set win.
Thursday’s win over R.J. Reynolds was dominant. The Bengals outmatched the Winston-Salem team 25-3, 25-7 and 25-11.
Blythewood hosted cross-town rival Westwood on Wednesday, but scores were not available at press time.
