WINNSBORO – Hurricane season can bring the kind of bad weather that prevents the Fairfield County Council on Aging (FCCOA) from being able to prepare food that it delivers to the elderly population in Fairfield County.

FCCOA sought funding to support the purchase of a generator system that will enable the kitchen to continue running despite an unplanned power outage due to weather. Recently, a $10,000 grant from Dominion Energy fulfilled that need.

“We are glad to have Dominion Energy’s help in getting this project off the ground,” said Executive Director Angela Connor. “So many elders in Fairfield County rely on our services. This funding for a generator will enable us to keep services going regardless of the weather.”
