Members and friends of the White Oak Baptist #2 in eastern Fairfield County celebrated the 162nd Anniversary of their church on Sunday, Oct. 9 with a large gathering.
Pastor Perry Williams and his church family hosted Rev. T. A. Belton of Zion Pilgrim Baptist Church who brought the sermon and his choir which led the congregation in singing old-timey gospel hymns as well as oral history stories. The service included prayer, praise, and fellowship. The oldest member lit a candle that was followed by the singing of Amazing Grace.
As the attendees gathered in the church yard, the four oldest members rang the historic church bell.
