FORT MILL – Westwood saw solid pre-season action last week against Piedmont High School and Strom Thurmond High School in the Millton Classic at Fort Mill High School. Both games had close final scores.
The Redhawks topped Piedmont in Monday’s tournament with a 49-46 final. Arden Conyers led Westwood scorers with 25 points. Zion Brown added 11 in the three-point win.
Westwood returned to Fort Mill on Tuesday for a pre-season bout with Strom Thurmond. The Redhawks fell short against the Rebels, dropping the game with a 49-55 final.
Tuesday, Westwood traveled to Spring Valley for their season opener. The Vikings squeezed past Westwood with a 54-49 final.
Westwood will play Wilson Hall, a SCISA school, in a showcase game on Thursday and then Cross Creek on Friday. They’ll host their home opener on Dec. 9, a rematch with Spring Valley.
