BLYTHEWOOD – The Blythewood Chamber of Commerce has announced its 2022 business award, naming Home Advantage Realty as Small Business of the Year; Lexington Medical Center as Large Business of the Year and realtor Jimmy Martin as Business Person of the Year. The Blythewood Rotary Club received the Chamber’s Community Service Award.
The annual awards honor individuals and businesses nominated and voted on by members of the Blythewood Chamber. According to Chamber Chairman Deborah McCutchen, the selection of the award recipients is based on their leadership, business growth, community impact and community service.
The winners will receive their awards at a members gala awards banquet on Saturday, Feb. 4 at The Farm at Ridgeway.
Home Advantage’s Blythewood office at 212 Main Street opened in Blythewood three years ago and boasts 24 realtors. The office is supportive of many community events as a sponsor or with volunteers.
Martin became a realtor after retiring from the military 14 years ago. He has been with Home Advantage the last two years. Martin is president of the Blythewood Rotary Club and volunteers for and helps sponsor the RibFest, Oktoberfest and other community events.
The Rotary Club raises money for student scholarships through several community events it sponsors, including Christmas tree sales and an annual 5K Fun Run .The Rotary is also know in the community for its members’ volunteer work in the Blythewood schools, roadside trash pickup and other volunteer opportunities in the community.
Lexington Medical Center opened Lexington Medical Center Northeast at Clemson and Longtown Roads almost two years ago. Besides housing several doctors’ offices, the facility includes urgent care, outpatient surgery, imaging services, lab services, physical and occupational therapy.
