Griffins fall to Great Falls, Eau Claire

WINNSBORO – Fairfield Central girls picked up their third win in a row last Thursday at home against Great Falls.

The Griffins dominated from onset and came away with a 62-16 final.

Great Falls boys bested the Griffins following the girls’ game with a decisive 67-34 final.

The boys also fell to Mid-Carolina in a non-conference game on Friday. The Rebels won 62-40.

In a return to region play this week, the Griffins dropped a tight 51-44 game to Eau Claire. The loss moves Fairfield’s boys to 1-3 in region play.

The Griffin girls lost by a narrow one-point margin. Trading leads, Fairfield came up short 52-51 in the end.

Both teams will face off again on Friday in Winnsboro, when the Griffins will honor senior basketball players Jamya Kennedy, Falcon Rivers, Daniel Kincade, AD, Jai Boyd and Dre Gladden.

Next week, Fairfield will host Keenan on Tuesday and play in their final regular season game at Keenan on Thursday. Girls tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
