WINNSBORO – Fairfield County Council passed a proclamation at its meeting on February 27 to recognize the retirement of Sergeant Jeremy Ashford from the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office.
Ashford served Fairfield County for 24 1/2 years. He began working at the Fairfield County Detention Center in May 1998. In May 2000, he transitioned to the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office and continued there until his retirement in Nov. 2022.
During his time at the Sheriff’s Office, Ashford served in several areas, including the Patrol Division, the Narcotics Unit, and the Warrant Division Sergeant. Additionally, Ashford was a long-standing member of the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT).
