BLYTHEWOOD – On Saturday, March 18 through Sunday, March 19, 2023, Little Zion Baptist Church of Blythewood, will celebrate the 40th Pastoral Anniversary of Pastor Eddie W. Davis. He holds the distinction as the second longest pastorate tenure in the 190-year history of the church. Standing on the shoulders of nine previous pastors he is only the fifth in the past 135 years.
Pastor Davis has received numerous awards and commendations in recognition of his services and leadership during his 40 years in the Blythewood, Winnsboro, Columbia areas and throughout the State of South Carolina. In 2016 a portion of Winnsboro Road (State Highway 321) was named in his honor. His name is also etched in the annals of history through the Blythewood Historical Society and at the South Carolina State Archives, through the Historical Marker of the church.
An appreciation banquet will be held on Saturday, March 18 at the Word of God Church and Ministries International. Over 300 guests are expected including his wife, First Lady Monica A. Davis and their six adult children and nine grandchildren, members of the church, fellow pastors, family, and friends. The keynote speaker will be Rev. Dr. Donald E. Greene, Jr. Pastor of Andrew Chapel Baptist Church in Orangeburg, SC and President of the Baptist Education and Missionary Convention of South Carolina
At Little Zion Baptist Church, a celebratory worship service will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at 10:00 AM where Rev. Dr. Carson Wise, Assoc. Minister of Central Baptist Church of Columbia, SC will be the speaker.
