Griffin softball knocks off Shamrocks

WINNSBORO – Fairfield Central softball picked up their third and fourth wins of the season in a Tuesday double-header against Eau Claire High School.

The Griffins took an 18-11 win in game one and followed up with a 16-11 win.

Myah McMillian and Zendora Jeter combined for three innings from the mound in the first game. Jeter faced 14 batters, struck out two, walked 9 and allowed 2 hits and 6 runs. McMillian faced 10 batters, struck out two, and allowed five runs on no hits.

Jeter went 3-4 on the day with 3 RBIs. Shontaria Jones batted 3-3 with 2 RBIs. Jamya Kennedy went 2-2 with 2 RBIs. McMillian batted 1-4 with an RBI.

The win advances Fairfield to 4-6 on the season. The Griffins will return from Spring Break for an April 21 game at Keenan. They’ll face Chester the following week for an away game on April 24 and in Winnsboro on April 28.
