High school Senior Chandler Mount achieved the status of Eagle Scout earlier this month. He built a Gaga Pit for Friendship Baptist Church in Lugoff as his project.
Mount will receive his two-year associate’s degree in science on May 3, which he earned in the STEM Early College Academy through Midlands Tech. Following that ceremony, he will receive his high school diploma with honors from Fairfield Central.
Mount has been accepted to the Capstone Scholars Program at the University of South Carolina and is also a Dean’s Scholar recipient from the University. He was on the Dean’s List several semesters through Midlands Tech dual enrollment classes as well as on the Fairfield Central Principal’s List.
This past summer he attended Boys State and was selected by Fairfield Electric Coop to attend the Washington Youth Tour.
