Free internet available for eligible Fairfield residents

WINNSBORO – Plugged In is a new, free program from Columbia Urban League in partnership with Fairfield County School District and Viasat.

The program provides eligible households in Fairfield County with three years of high-speed satellite internet, a laptop, and online resources supporting education, health, career development and more, all at no cost.

Households with one or more students enrolled in FCSD and that qualify for SNAP and/or Medicaid are eligible to participate.

The free high-speed internet can be used for free online tutoring and remote learning; job training; telehealth appointments and more.

An in-person information session is in a satellite internet demo at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 4, at Fairfield Middle School Gym, 728 US Highway 321 by-pass, in Winnsboro.

No RSVP is required. Refreshments will be served.
