WINNSBORO – It was a big day for pets and their owners on Saturday when the mobile vet came to Winnsboro …just for them.
It was announced the mobile unit would be dispensing some free rabies inoculations and some free microchips plus a laundry list of medical services would be offered at reduced rates on Saturday from 10 – 1.
The owners and their pets began arriving at 9 a.m. and the last one went home at 2 p.m.
The count for the day: 66 pets received shots and 26 received microchips.
“It was a wonderful turnout and everything went smoothly,” said organizer Sonja Murphy. “We had a lot of wonderful volunteers and both the pets and their people were patient and well behaved. It was so successful that we are offering this again on Aug. 26. Watch The Voice for details in the coming weeks.”
