Shady Grove Church celebrates 200th Anniversary July 26-30

FAIRFIELD COUNTY – Shady Grove Church will celebrate its 200th church anniversary July 26 through July 30 with the theme of, “We’ve come this far by faith.”

Featured speakers will be: Rev. Terry Corbin of St. Paul Baptist in Winnsboro (Wed. night); Rev. Bennie Colley, Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Winnsboro (Thurs. night); Rev. Jonathan Bell, St. Peter Community Church in Blair (Fri. night); Rev. Ray T. Pierce, Shady Grove Independent Church (Sun. morning).

Chat sessions will be held and historical storytelling of the many bridges crossed and mountains climbed with nothing more than faith in God.

 Booths, tents and designated areas will be available (first come, first served) to provide services and information for the community.

Festivities are from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and evening worship services at 7 p.m. Friday night services begin at 6 p.m. with youth concert following 7 p.m. services.

Refreshments will be available as well as games (i.e. chess, checkers, Uno, horseshoes, corn hole toss, etc.), line dancing, praise dancing, health care agencies, city/county council, law enforcement and local businesses.

Wednesday – Senior Day; Thursday – Community Day; Friday – Movers and Shakers Day; Saturday – Youth Day; Sunday – Historical presentation/Family Day.
