BLYTHEWOOD – With summer break drawing to a close, registration have opened for youth sports in Blythewood.
Blythewood Soccer, another newer league to Blythewood, is also open for registration for ages 4 – 14. Teams train at least one day a week for eight weeks and play on Friday evenings or Saturday mornings. Registration ends Sunday, Aug. 20. Visit blythewoodsoccer.com for more information.
Blythewood Youth Baseball and Softball League opened registration for Fall Ball on Tuesday for kids ages 3 – 12. Registration prices range from $60 – $85, depending on the player’s level. Practices will begin following Labor Day and run through October. Games and practices are held at Blythewood Park, 126 Boney Rd., Blythewood. To register, visit app.teampass.com/BYBSL.
Blythewood Bengals Youth Football and Cheer will end registration on Aug. 31. Practices are held Mon., Tues., and Thurs from 6 – 8 p.m. at Recreation Sports Complex, 578 Ander Dr., Columbia. Visit blythewoodbengals.org for information.
Soccer Shots, which is open to ages 2-8, returns to Doko Meadows Park for a Fall season. The 10-week season runs Sept. 9 – Nov. 11 and meets on Saturdays. Visit columbia.soccershots.com and search 29016 for details.
Jeep Rogers YMCA’s late registration for Fall Soccer and Volleyball ends on Sunday, Aug. 6. Practices begin Aug. 14 with games following beginning Aug. 26. The season ends Oct. 21. The soccer league is open to ages 3 – 15; the volleyball league is open to ages 8 – 17. Registration fees vary with age groups. Flag football registration (for ages 3 – 14) will open Aug. 7 and ends Oct. 15 (subject to availability). The season runs from Oct. 23 to Nov. 4. One of the newest youth athletic programs is a volleyball team – Carolina Rogue Volleyball is starting a Blythewood program called Rogue Redhawks for ages 7 – 14. Registration ended July 31, but look to register for future seasons. The fall season runs Aug. 14 – Oct. 22 at Killian Road Park. Cost is $135.
