LAKE WATEREE – Ricky David Stansel, 69, of Lake Wateree, went to his eternal resting place on Saturday, September 23, 2023. Born in Columbia, SC, on June 16, 1954, he was a son of the late Ben L. and Judy A. Miller Stansel.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Justice Stansel; daughters, Deloris Stansel Brazell (Joey) and Melissa Michelle Stansel; as well as his grandchildren, Rebecca Brazell, Seth Harriman, Junior Brazell, Lachlan Brazell; and his great-grandson, Dakota Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Felix Brazell.
Rick had an immense love for his family, his Cherokee heritage, and the great outdoors. His career in HVAC ended by injury in 2005. He spent his free time with his family and dog, Dixie Stansel. His favorite hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening, cooking, bird watching, painting statues, building furniture/decks, and repairing antique furniture. His huge heart and funny personality will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
The graveside service for Mr. Stansel will be private in Celestial Memorial Gardens. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
