RIDGEWAY – The First Baptist Church of Ridgeway has announced that Stephen Forrester has been named the church’s new pastor.
Forrester, his wife Lauren and their five children (ages 3 mo. – 9 years) were previously with the Sanctuary Baptist Church in Greenville where he had served two and a half years as associate pastor.
Forrester said he grew up in Greenville as the son of a Baptist minister and began preaching in 2015.
He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and earned a Master of Divinity in Christian Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.
In a message to his new congregate Forrester said, “We look forward to sharing in your joys, comforting you in times of sorrow, and growing together in our faith. By God’s grace, we will give ourselves to becoming a healthy church that reflects a faithful gospel witness in our community.”
Asked about his interests, Forrester said he loves eating pizza and playing basketball more than the average person.
The church is located at 2040 Valencia Rd, in Ridgeway. Services are Sunday School 10 a.m. and Worship Service at 11 a.m.
