WINNSBORO – A battle ended with Richard Winn’s first loss of the season last Wednesday. The game was tied in the top of the seventh when an Eagle error scored two to put York Prep ahead; they held on for a 7-5 win.
Charlie Bonds started on the mound for the Eagles. He threw for 4.2 innings before Anthony Armstrong came on in relief. Bonds struck out nine, walked two, allowed five hits and four runs (2 earned).
Armstrong pitched for 1.2 innings, facing seven batters. He struck out two, walked one, allowed one hit and two runs. Miller Stuck faced five batters in the top of the seventh. He struck out two, allowed one hit and one run.
Bonds led at the plate. He batted 2-3 with a solo homer. Stuck had an RBI double.
The Eagles quickly got back in the win column with 13-2 win over Great Falls on Monday. Stuck went 2-4 with a grand slam. Bonds hit a three-run shot in the seventh.
The Eagles will look for redemption against York Prep on Monday at 5 p.m.
