ABBEVILLE – Fairfield Central softball faced Fox Creek and Abbeville last week in the District 1 playoffs on their quest for a Class AA SCHSL title. They dropped their opener 22-0 to Fox Creek, sending them into an elimination game against Abbeville.
Game two was a scoring fest, but Abbeville held on for a 28-17 win in seven innings over the Griffins to end their playoff hopes. Abbeville was eliminated in the next round with a 17-7 loss to Fox Creek.
