Ernest Pendleton Ferguson, III

Ernest Pendleton Ferguson, III age 61 of Daleville, Virginia passed away on June 10, 2025. He was born February 1, 1964, in Winnsboro, SC and graduated from Richard Winn Academy where he was involved in student government, sports and attended Boy’s State. He graduated from Clemson University in 1986 with a degree in Business Management. He was a member and Worthy Master (president) of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and inducted into Tiger Brotherhood.

After graduation he was employed by Norfolk Southern Railroad and was eventually moved to Roanoke where he met his wife, Claire. Ernie was an international cold chain executive first at MTC Logistics and then Lineage Logistics, with a long history in the food supply chain industry.

Ernie had many hobbies including fishing, cooking, golf and anything Clemson. Ernie was an IPTAY representative and on the Department of Food, Nutrition, & Packaging Advisory Board.

He was pre-deceased by his father Ernest Pendleton Ferguson, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 26 years Claire Brett Ferguson, his mother Betty Ann Ferguson, his sister Louise Ferguson Deahl (Eric), sister-in-law Paige Falls Bouy (Mark) and nieces Erica Deahl, Emily Deahl, Savannah Falls and Hope Shreve (Nate).

Visitation was held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 11:00 with a memorial service following at 12:30 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2712 Brandon Ave SW. Roanoke, VA 24015. Memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church or American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, New York City.
