BLYTHEWOOD – The Blythewood football team (3-7, 1-5 Region 5-5A) closed out the regular season with a 39-7 loss to region runner-up Ridge View (7-3, 5-1) last week, but hit the road Friday to take on Clover in the 5A Division 1 playoffs.
Clover (5-5, 2-4 Region 3-5A) is a No.7 seed to Blythewood’s No.10 seed. The Blue Eagles fell 22-21 to Catawba Ridge last week.
Against the Blazers, James Veasey was 13-for-24 in passing for 105 yards but had three interceptions. Ryan Hall got the Bengals on the scoreboard with a 23-yard fumble return.
Ridge View’s Bijon Virgo passed for two touchdowns and Ashton Chapman passed for one. Virgo and Spencer Bobian had touchdown runs.
