WINNSBORO – Fairfield County School District has made academic progress in a number of areas according to the 2024-2025 South Carolina School Report Card.
Seven schools in the district were rated, with Fairfield Magnet School for Math and Science highlighting the district’s success with an Excellent overall rating again this year, the highest designation awarded. The school outperformed the state in ELA and Math, establishing a strong academic foundation from the earliest grades.
Several schools across the district demonstrated notable gains, with some achieving ratings above state expectations.
At the high school level, Fairfield Central High School earned a Good rating, exceeding state criteria in three of the four End-of-Course exams. The school also received Good ratings in College and Career Readiness and High School Student Success.
The percentage of students graduating career-ready slightly surpassed the state average. This category reflects the district’s success in preparing students for post-secondary success.
Fairfield Middle School earned a Good overall rating, outperforming the state in overall academic growth, including the lowest performing 20 percent of students.
At the elementary level, Geiger Elementary School earned a Good rating with strong ELA and Math performance, with Kelly Miller Elementary and McCrorey-Liston School of Technology each earning Average ratings in meeting the state’s requirements, but exceeded state averages in student progress.
Fairfield Elementary School rated Below Average but demonstrated student growth above the state average, signaling ongoing improvement efforts.
