BLYTHEWOOD – Following their 2024-2025 campaign when their seasons ended in the 5A Division 1 title game, Blythewood High School basketball teams are ready to tip off the new season.
Blythewood’s boys start their state championship loss revenge tour with a holiday tournament hosted by the Bethel Hanberry Alumni Association during Thanksgiving week. They will host Fairfield Central on Monday, Nov. 24 and York on Tuesday, Nov. 25. Both games are set for 7:30 p.m. They’re back on the court on Saturday, Nov. 29 against Cuthbertson at 5:30 p.m.
Blythewood’s girls begin their quest to defend their 2025 state title on Friday, Nov. 28 against Camden High School in the She Got Next tournament.
Both Bengal teams will open the regular season at White Knoll on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
Westwood’s girls will pack in preseason action, beginning this weekend in the Armed Forces Tournament. They face Georgetown at 6:45 on Friday, Nov. 21, then will play Rock Hill on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 12 p.m.
After Thanksgiving, the Redhawk girls will play in the TKC Thanksgiving Classic, hosted by Summerville High School. Nov. 28-30. They’ll face Porter Gaud at 2 p.m. on Friday, Burke at 2 p.m. on Saturday, and finish with West Ashley at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Following a pre-season game on Nov. 21 against Clear Dot Charter School (7 p.m. tipoff), Westwood will host Thanksgiving Shootout games on Monday, Nov. 24 at 4 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 2 p.m.
Both Westwood teams open play on the road on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at Richland Northeast. Girls tip-off is set for 6 p.m., boys will follow.
