WINNSBORO – A number of events are planned around the county to celebrate Martin Luther King’s birthday.
Martin Luther King Jr. Parade
Darreyl Davis and the Prime Tyme Riders 1st annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. King Day Parade will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17 in downtown Winnsboro.
The parade line-up will begin at 9 a.m. at the Evans Street Extension. Participants should come from Hwy 200 and line up along the curb. Staff will be there to help participants to the proper location.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. and travel south on Congress Street.
There is no charge to be in the parade. Entries not registered by Friday, Jan. 9 can still participate, but will be placed at the end of the parade line.

Celebrating the Day
The annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration, sponsored by the Fairfield County NAACP, will be held at 3 p.m., Jan. 19, at the Blackjack Baptist Church, 178 Reservoir Road in Winnsboro. The Rev. Henry Spann will be the keynote speaker.
