BLYTHEWOOD — As the 2025-26 school year nears its conclusion, the Blythewood High School JROTC program gathered April 1 to celebrate a year of discipline and service. More than 50 cadets were recognized for their leadership and individual accomplishments during the battalion’s annual Award Ceremony.

Blythewood High School Principal Ralph Schmidt attended as a guest speaker, praising the battalion for the role they play in the school’s culture. Schmidt highlighted the cadets’ commitment to hospitality and professional standards.

“Whenever a guest comes to the school, I make sure that the JROTC cadets are there to give them a proper welcome to Blythewood High School,” Schmidt said.

The ceremony also served as a formal farewell to the program’s graduating seniors. To mark their transition, cadets who completed at least three years in the program received personalized medals engraved with their names.

Additionally, the battalion’s top three cadets were awarded JROTC stoles, a distinction reserved for those who have demonstrated the highest level of dedication to the program’s growth and mission.
