Pauline Alyce Carlson Johnson, 84, of Blythewood, South Carolina, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025. She was born on October 28, 1940, in Cloquet, Minnesota, the daughter of Esther and Arthur Carlson Sr. Pauline graduated from Cloquet High School and later moved to South Carolina, where she built a life centered around family and community.
In 1962, Pauline married the love of her life, Jim Johnson. In 2025, they would have celebrated 63 years of marriage. Jim preceded her in death, as did their daughter, Neva Atkinson. Pauline found joy in the simple pleasures of life—she loved traveling to new places, engaging in a variety of crafts, and cherishing every moment spent with her family. Those who knew her will remember her warmth, creativity, and the unwavering love she showed to everyone around her.
She is survived by her son, Mark Johnson and his wife, Denise; her daughter, Keri-Jo Glover and her husband, Quinn; and her son-in-law, Randy Atkinson. Pauline was the proud grandmother of three granddaughters: Sara, Samantha, and Kori-Lee, and the adored great-grandmother of five: Cheyene, Lily, Caleb, Elijah, and Liam. She is also fondly remembered as a beloved aunt by numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Pauline’s life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Lupus Foundation of America at www.lupus.org.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
