WINNSBORO – Fairfield County Parks and Recreation is looking to bring the “fastest growing sport in America” to the local youth community. A new six-week pickleball lesson series is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, March 3 at the Mt. Zion Gym.
The program, led by instructor Shonne Webb-Bey, is designed to teach every aspect of the game to young athletes, regardless of their current skill level. The lessons are structured as a series of one-hour weekly classes held every Tuesday evening.
To ensure age-appropriate instruction, the classes have been divided into three specific age brackets:
- Ages 7–9: 6 – 7 p.m.
- Ages 10–13: 7 – 8 p.m.
- Ages 14–17: 8 – 9 p.m.
The cost for the full six-week series is $90 per student. All sessions will be held at the Mt. Zion Gym, located at 230 N. Walnut St. in Winnsboro.
Organizers encourage interested families to register early to secure a spot. For more information or to sign up, contact Shonne Webb-Bey via email at s.g.webb-bey@hotmail.com or call Fairfield County Parks & Recreation at 803-635-9114.
