Maudie Fogle Douglas

obit_maudie-douglas-copyWINNSBORO (Nov. 1, 2016) – Maudie Ruth Fogle Douglas, 74, beloved wife of Jimmy Ray Douglas for 54 years, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 31, 2016. Maudie, affectionately known as Waddie, is survived by her three daughters: Kim Bone (Tony), Karen Mattox (Jeff), Rebekah Coleman (Kevin); seven grandchildren: Taylor and Avery Bone, Annie Laurie and Todd Mattox, Carson Justice, Meredyth Melton and Rutland Coleman; and her brother, Raymond E. “Bubba” Fogle Jr.

Maudie was the daughter of the late Annie Laurie Blakely Fogle and Raymond E. Fogle Sr. of Orangeburg, S.C. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Jimmie Raye Fogle Wilcox and Sandra Fogle Bryan.

Waddie dearly loved her family and friends. She enjoyed making crafts and giving to those whom she loved. She loved RWA basketball for many generations, and her favorite place was Surfside Beach. Waddie’s pride and joy in her life were her seven grandchildren, whom she absolutely adored. She touched the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Waddie will remain in our hearts as we await our Heavenly reunion. She will dwell in the House of our Lord forever.

The family extends a heartfelt appreciation to Stephanie Parker for her care, love and friendship to Maudie over the past several months.

Funeral services for Maudie will be held at First United Methodist Church on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016 at 4 p.m. with burial immediately following at Fairfield Memorial Cemetery. Afterwards, the family invites friends to the home of Maudie and Jimmy Ray Douglas for fellowship.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 109 West College St., Winnsboro, S.C. 29180.
