Redhawk tennis makes history

BLYTHEWOOD – The Westwood tennis squad downed the Ridge View Blazers last Friday 4-2. The win clinched the Redhawk tennis team’s first playoff berth in school history.

Steven Massey began the Redhawks night with a straight set victory over Kaleb Phelps, and Oliver Ellis did the same to Logan Carter. Ridge View’s Daniel Gooding and Riley Snell picked up the next two matches for the Blazers.

Brandon Strother put a halt to the momentum with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout of Hari Kummer. Davis Roberts and Eamon Wood slammed the door on the Blazers with a default win in doubles competition.
