WINNSBORO – Fairfield County Behavioral Health Services celebrated Recovery Month last week with a drop-in at its new facility on the bypass.

Highlight of the program were the annual award presentations which included Volunteer Appreciation (Dr. Virginia Schafer); Support and Promotion of BHS Services (Rep. MaryGail Douglas, Dist. 41 and County Councilman Billy Smith); The Marion C. Smith Partner of the Year (Tiffany Phillips, SC Probate, Parole and Pardon Services) and My Recovery Story Contest Winner (Casey Quick).

“Recovery is what we strive for everyday in carrying out our mission,” Executive Director Vernon Kennedy said. “Integrated care, a strong community, sense of purpose and leadership contribute to effective treatments that sustain recovery of persons with mental and substance use disorders.”

Following the award presentation, guests were served refreshments and given tours of the new building.
