Letter: A Needed Apology

I wanted to take a moment to make an apology. No, not from me but for the Fairfield County Council. After reading the ordinance to distribute the ARP funds, I believe someone should speak up.

To those past employees who were essential in 2020 and left to get better jobs, I apologize.

To those past employees who retired to spend the rest of their time on earth with their family and friends I apologize.

To any other past employees who were not acknowledged, I apologize.

But to those who received funds for just being at the right place at the right time, I congratulate you.

Due to the lack of common sense, lack of appreciation for employees and lack of research for those who left right before the deadline, I apologize.

Lastly for the unbelievably ignorant ordinance that was put through without any intelligent legal advice or input from Human resource, I apologize.

I hope we get Smarter in 2022.
