WINNSBORO – Lifelong Winnsboro resident Bill Haslett called on the town’s citizens last Friday to support and work with the new town council and administration to put a shine on Winnsboro.

“Mayor John McMeekin and Town Administrator Jason Taylor and the town council are turning this town around, and I’m so proud of what they’re doing. We all need to give them our support.

“I grew up in Winnsboro and I have a vision of the future – nice places to eat, shops and events,” Haslett told the crowd of people who gathered in front of his building on N. Congress Street.

For his part, Haslett said he plans to make a large investment in his building, to renovate it as a nice restaurant with a patio out back and a cozy basement lounge with lots of Winnsboro memorabilia.

As guests gathered to listen to Haslett, he introduced Representative Annie McDaniel, Mayor John McMeekin and Town Administrator Jason Taylor. Several other dignitaries were in the audience as well.

He also introduced Chef Sherry Mosely, a successful caterer out of Blythewood who, Haslett said, will be in charge of the kitchen in his newly renovated restaurant.

  1. Martha Lattimore Hughes says

Congratulations to a new beginning. We will support as we
vacations at Lake Wateree. The new restaurant will be enjoyed so much.

  2. The Voice forgets that Haslett brought a frivolous lawsuit against a large number of honest Winnsboro citizens. IMHO, not the right man to improv Winnsboro.
