Caulder, Bass win landslide victories

WINNSBORO – In the race for County Auditor, Democrat Anne Bass, who currently serves as the finance director of Fairfield County, received 5,766 votes (74%) in an overwhelming victory over Petition candidate Frank Johnson who took 2,013 votes (25%). Bass will take office on January 1, 2023.

Democrat Brad Caulder, who is currently the Human Resources Director for the county, and served last year as Interim County Administrator, won a landslide vote for Probate Judge over opponent Talya Harper Seals. Caulder brought in 6,209 votes (80%) to Seals’ 1,566 votes (20%).

House Dist. 41

In the race for the District 41 House seat Democrat Annie McDaniel with 8,070 votes (57%) bested Republican Jennifer Brecheisen with 6,004 votes (43%).

There were 10 write-in votes.

Uncontested Races

County Treasurer Norma Branham was unopposed Tuesday, taking 7,975 votes. There were 76 write-ins.

Sixth Circuit Solicitor Randy Newman, Jr. received 4,925 votes. There were 80 write-in votes.

Winning seats on the Rocky Creek Watershed, were William Wishert with 50 votes and Claudia F. Dean with 37 votes.

The two Soil and Water District Commission seats were won by, Eric Cathcart, 3,381. And William Ladd, 3,237. There were 66 write-in votes.

All results are unofficial until certified by the County Election Commission Friday morning.
