Mt. Pigsah celebrates 5 years with Pastor Wilson

RIDGEWAY – Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church celebrates the 5th Anniversary of Pastor James M. Wilson, Sr. on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 5:00 PM. Rev. Charles Jackson, Sr. of Brookland Baptist Church will speak.

Rev. Wilson and his wife LeVane

Rev. Wilson began preaching in 1974 at his home church of Mechanicville United Methodist Church in Sumter and was licensed by Mt. Zero Baptist Church in Paxville.  He has served as pastor of Mill Creek Baptist Church, St. Paul Baptist Church and Black Rock Baptist Church.

In January 2013, Rev. Wilson was installed as the Pastor of Mt. Pisgah.  Under his leadership, the sanctuary and fellowship hall were renovated. The church installed a new baptism pool, a digital church sign and a security system; added bathrooms, a pastoral study and a kitchen. Most of all, souls have been saved, attendance has increased, ministries have been instituted and Christian education training has been provided.

Rev. Wilson is married to LeVane Long, and is the father of 4 children, James (Stephanie); Keonda (Shawn); Wilbur (Nicole) and Jarvis, and has 10 grandchildren.
