BLYTHEWOOD – During an update on the 2022 Christmas parade, Phil Frye, Director of the Chamber of Commerce, announced an addition to this year’s parade which will be held on Sunday, Dec. 11.
A Christmas market will be open in the park throughout the parade weekend beginning at 4 p.m. Friday and ending at 7 p.m. Sunday. The focus of the vendors will be holiday merchandise and foods.
Councilman Donald Brock asked for a follow up on a request he sent the Chamber on Oct. 1, recommending that the 2022 Dixie Youth World Series Blythewood baseball champions be named grand marshals of the parade. Frye said that the chamber board will be voting on the grand marshal candidates. He said a chamber committee had already nominated two other candidates but would consider the baseball team.
Frye also said the chamber is going to re-route the Christmas parade this year to come from Oakhurst down Main Street to McNulty, turn right on McNulty and then left on Boney Road and left on to Blythewood Road down to Main Street.
