Player of the Year –

BHS junior Gabby Waden was named this week as the 5A volleyball Player of the Year by The State newspaper. Waden, who led the team with 53 aces and 191 blocks, helped the Lady Bengals reach the Lower State championship match and earned All-State honors.

The Blythewood-Ridgeway-Winnsboro Cookie Elves were at it again this Christmas, preparing trays of homemade cookies for seniors and shut-ins in the three communities. In matching aprons, Elves Jan Gregory, Beth Collins, Norma Branham, Mitzi Davenport, Phyllis Gutierrez, Denise Jones (and others not shown) met the Sunday before Christmas at Branham’s home to fill 75 trays
